CAI Announces Basketball Coaches

Dear CAI families,

After many hours of meetings, interviews, and more meetings, and with the assistance of an advisory search committee, we are very excited to announce that have selected our new Varsity Boy’s Basketball Head Coach and Varsity Girl’s Basketball Head Coach.  Both coaches were selected from a pool of candidates that represented several states and a wide range of experience levels.  Both have a real heart for ministry through sports, a passion for the game, and a desire to build a championship caliber program.

I am very excited to announce the hiring of Curtis White as the new head of the boy’s basketball program.  Coach White comes to us having coached at various levels since 2000 at Austin High School where he is and will remain a teacher.  Coach White is also an experienced high school track head coach and high school volleyball head coach but will be focused solely on basketball in the Warrior program.  His desire for excellence on the court, his love for the kids, and his gift for using sports as a ministry to impact the lives of all the young people he serves will make him a great asset to our program and community.  Coach White is married and the father of one, with another child on the way. In addition to his other gifts and areas of interest, he plays guitar and sings with the worship team at Scottsburg First Christian Church. Coach White was able to meet with a few of our families tonight, and I know that he is anxious to get to know everyone as soon as possible.

I am also pleased to announce that Emy Lorigan is now the new head coach of our entire girl’s basketball program.  Emy stands out for her passion for excellence and her desire to truly use the program to build Christian women.  She has been coaching softball and basketball for several years at many levels and is excited to build on the work Tim Coomer has done in the last four years.  Coach Lorigan has already met with her team and parents and is putting pieces in place to begin to build right away.  If you see Coach Lorigan around, please welcome her to the CAI community.

Once again, on behalf of the search committee and ourselves, we want to thank you for your patience and invite you to celebrate with us the great addition of these two quality coaches to our athletic program and school community.  These additions represent a tremendous opportunity for our entire school community to rally around these programs and help make them all that they can be. We are very excited about the direction of these programs, and we ask for your support and your prayers during this time of transition.
