Warriors Nearly Knock off Lanesville

The varsity boys basketball team took the floor Saturday knowing that they had given Lanesville a tough game for three quarters in the Christmas Tournament and that with some slight changes and some more discilpine, they could give Lanesville a run.

Battling early turnovers, the Warriors regrouped in the second quarter and early in the third to be within three points numerous times in the second half.  Cody Bachman and Drew Mattingly did some damage inside off penetration and Mattingly hit some perimeter shots while Miller McKorkle went the length of the floor twice.

The bench played well to give the Warriors a chance at their second win of the season.  In the final minute, two Warriors missed contested lay-ups leaving the door open for Lanesville to close the game out on top.

Heading into the last couple weeks before sectionals, CAI now sits at 1-12 but is climbing into the mix - believe it or not.  By sectional time, the Warriors will get some upsets.  Watch and see!  GO, WARRIORS!
